    Wednesdays Market offerings: Cucumbers, Peppers, Onions, Carrots, Kale, Basil, Eggplant, Fingerling potatoes, Swiss chard, Peppers (green and white bells, and cubanelles), Eggplants (Oriental and Italian, various colors); Tomatoes (cherry and grape, Low Acid Gold Dust and possibly others); yellow squash (straight and crookneck); and Zucchini (Green, Lt Grn, Yellow, Eight Ball and Middle Eastern).    All of this and a whole lot more. Remember, It’s always fresher in Person!

    Saturday’s Market

    Beef, Chicken, Pork, Home made crackers, cookies, muffins, pastries, honey, jellies, jams, and more fresh, locally grown vegetables and fruits than you know what to do with. Mark your calendar for July 14th. Tomato and Garlic day. We’ll have samples of a variety of locally grown tomatoes and garlic. Remember, It’s always fresher in Person!! The Person County Farmers Market will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th.

    Gumbo Cook-Off This Saturday at the Market

    Come by on Saturday for the Gumbo Throw Down between the Currier-Times own Mike Floyd and Back Yard Bow Pro Chef Derek St.Romain. The cooking starts around 10 with the tasting/voting around 11. Bring a friend and while you are waiting to taste the gumbo, you can pick up some fresh local vegetables, breads and meat.

Leaf lettuce, squash, Fresh herbs and teas (cilantro, bergamot, lemon bergamot, sage, rosemary, dill, oregano, tulsi (holy basil), stevia, basil mix (Thai, lemon, cinnamon, purple basils), chamomile, calendula), Dried spices (oregano, rosemary, sage, purple basil),Dried herbal teas (lavender and lemon bergamot), Zinnias,    Beef  and chicken,    Cookies, homemade crackers, pastries and breads.

    Saturday Market Will Be Busy!!

    Things at the market on Saturday: Besides Chef Derek cooking and discussing Back Yard Pro Bow (not sure what that is, come out taste his food and ask him),    we will have green beans, broccoli, carrots, onions and kohlrabi, S & H Lettuce Mix, Swiss chard, basil, carrots, beets, squash, oregano, dill, and tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, beets, herbs, carrots, cabbage culiflower!
