    Saturday at the Market: Fresh Local Food and Cooking

    Lettuce, Basil, Sweet Potatoes. Swiss Chard, Asian Mix, Chives, Dill, Sweet peppers, Green beans, Edamame , Rosemary, Dried Parsley, Cherry Tomatoes, beef, chicken. All this and a whole lot more!! Also this Saturday, Eric White and his son Ryan will be with us doing some cooking. Eric is a resident of Caswell County and the area coordinator for Backyard Bow Pro. Backyard Bow Pro is all about building social bridges to the betterment of our community.     The market will have a cooking demonstration featuring Marilyn Markel, Southern Seasons, Cooking School Manager ( http://www.southernseason.com/class/ ) and Lucindy Willis, Ph.D., Owner/Cooking Instructor, Terrapin Cove Farm ( http://terrapincovefarm.com/ ) You get to see two great Chef’s in action at one time at the same place. It just doesn’t get much better than this!

    Lettuce, Basil, Chinese noodle beans, Green Beans, Sweet Peppers, ‘Carolina Ruby’ Sweet Potatoes, Sun Gold and Black Cherry tomatoes, Dried Parsley, Garlic, Flower Bouquets, pumpkins, gomphrena, fresh and dried herbs and teas, and heirloom watermelons.     Lots of fresh vegetables, beef, chicken. We will also have the Girl Scout Car Wash and the market vendors ice cream social. Home make ice cream flavors = vanilla, cantaloupe, ginger, sun dried tomato with raisins, peach, strawberry, paw paw Home make sorbet flavors = cherry, mango, lemon basil and watermelon. Make sure to stop by, pick up some fresh vegetables, get your car washed and have an ice cream treat!! Remember, It’s always fresher in Person!!

    Lots going on at the market on Saturday

    Girl Scout Troop 674 will be down at the end of the market by the Person Industries building holding a fund raising car wash. The market vendors are also holding an ice cream social fundraiser for the market. Make sure to come by and while your car is being washed, grab some home made ice cream. There will be several varieties to choose from. The Girl Scouts and market vendors are accepting donations for the car wash and ice cream.  Make sure to let your friends know. Also, if you are interested in helping serve or even want to make ice cream, please let us know. Several of the vendors…
