    Saturday Market Tomato and Garlic Day!!

    Our Annual Tomato & Garlic Day is here again! This Saturday from 8-noon, come celebrate juicy, ripe, locally-grown tomatoes at the Person County Farmers Market! Vendors will be sampling different varieties of tomatoes and even some garlic. The market invites all who grow backyard tomatoes to bring them on down and enter one or two in the tomato contest from 10-noon (bring yours down before 10!). The winners of 1. Biggest Tomato, 2. Best Looking Tomato, 3. Most Unique Tomato, 4. Customer Favorite will receive special recognition and ‘Market Bucks’. If you or friends or family you know have some ‘maters coming off – tell them to bring them down.…

    Wednesday at the Market

    What an interesting beginning to July! I have never seen one so wet and such low temps (for July…). The chance of more torrential rain in the forecast is unbelievable! Usually the grass has stopped growing and veggies are starting to crisp up in the fields. The fields and crops are trying their best to breathe through the drier days, and free-range animals are roaming happily with plenty to eat in the pastures. Even with the unusual weather, the market still has your best for the beginning of summer!
