Saturday’s Market

I have to admit, Okra is one of my favorite vegetables.  Whether you fry it, stew it, bake it, or pickle it, you’ll be speaking my language!  That’s why I’m so happy that it’s that time of the season, and it partners so well with more acidic vegetables like tomatoes, which are in season too!
Did you know it’s also LOADED with what we need?  Iron, Calcium, Manganese and Magnesium, B-Complex and Vitamins A, K and Folates.  Even what some may consider off-putting, that ‘slimy’ characteristic actually assists in digestion!

Please join me in celebrating The Mighty Okra – this Saturday, 8am until noon.

Hester Produce and Cloverfield Farms will bring okra, Jade snap beans, blueberries, tomatoes, zucchini, pickling cucumbers, cat and bird crafts.

Rising Sun Breads will be at the market this Saturday offering the following:
Fresh Baked Artisan Breads
Seasonal fruit pies
Granola bars and granola
Fresh deli salads from our Catering Line (sampling as well)
Pimento cheese
Lovely veggie quiches
Mike Floyd will be grilling sourdough, pimento cheese, fresh tomatoes and whatever else is at the market!

Red Mountain Goodness will be there this Saturday with their luxurious line of goat’s milk soaps and shampoo bars!

Chrystal Hardt will bring her artwork and stage a painting demonstration!
