Busy Week at the Market:

On Wednesday, The North Carolina Farm Bureau “Healthy Living for a Lifetime” event will be at the market from 10 am—6 pm. Shop the market during our extended hours and receive free health screenings and educational materials throughout the day. To find out more about the health screening contact Person County Farm Bureau 336-599-8377. We have several vendors who will be coming out early on Wednesday so make sure to stop by.

Also on Wednesday, the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association will be at the market from 3-6 with their Barn Storm Tour.

On Saturday, Sheri Castle will be cooking at the market. Sheri is a Food Writer, Cooking Teacher, Recipe Tester & Developer. Sheri will have her cookbook, The New Southern Garden Cookbook: Recipes for Enjoying the Best from Homegrown Gardens, Farmers’ Markets, Roadside Stands and CSA Farm Boxes, will be available for purchase. The Person County Friends of the Library will be helping Sheri with the book signing before and after her cooking demonstration.

The Person County Farmers Market will also be giving away one seat to Sheri Castle’s Culinary Lesson At Southern Season (CLASS) in Chapel Hill on November 15th at 6pm. The drawing will be held at the end of Sheri’s demonstration at the market on Oct 13th. Must be present to win!!
